Ford Ranger FX4 dual-cab ute returns

Limited-edition 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 gets unique grille, wheels, sports bar and interior
Details and specification of the new limited-edition MY2020 Ford Ranger FX4 dual-cab ute have been announced today,
joining the refreshed 2020 Ranger roster that lobs in December 2019.
Like the rest of the 2020 Ford Ranger ute line-up, pricing for the Ranger FX4 dual-cab ute is not yet known,
so how much value it adds – if any – is not yet clear.

However, Ford has confirmed just 1000 units of the Ranger FX4 will be offered,
based on the Ranger XLT and slotting in between it and Wildtrak models.
The FX4’s added features include the following exterior parts:
Dark Bi-LED high performance headlights
Black FX4 mesh front grille
Black 18-inch FX4 alloy wheels
Black FX4 low-rise rear sports bar
Black exterior mirrors, door and tailgate handles
Red FX4 front door decal with 3D effect
Red FX4 tailgate decal with 3D effect

Other standard features include the SYNC3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,
which is now standard across the entire 2020 Ford Ranger line-up.

Like the entire MY20 Ranger line-up, a number of driver assistance technologies are as standard on the FX4r,
including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and active lane keep assist,
along with traffic sign recognition and auto-dipping high-beam headlights.

As is the case for the Ranger XLT, an optional tech pack can also be added that brings automated parallel parking and adaptive cruise control.
Engine choices for the Ranger FX4 include the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder twin turbo-diesel mill (157kW/500Nm), paired to a 10-speed powertrain.
Claimed consumption is 7.4L/100km.

Buyers can also opt for the tried-and-tested 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel (147kW/470Nm) with a six-speed auto offered previously.
It burns fuel at a rate of 8.4L/100km when paired to the manual gearbox.

The FX4’s towing capacity remain at 3500kg.
Like all new Fords, the FX4 comes with a five-year,
unlimited-kilometre warranty with capped-price servicing and a free loan car when your vehicle is in the shop.
Rivals for the 2020 Ford Ranger include the top-selling Toyota HiLux along with the Mitsubishi Tritonand Nissan Navara.
Stay tuned for pricing on the upgraded 2020 Ford Ranger ute.
