A South Yarra penthouse that won The Block is being sold by a current contestant who hopes to claim victory himself.
The top-floor apartment from the TV show’s Blocktagon series in 2015 has resurfaced on the market with a $2.3-$2.45 million price guide.
Controversial contestant Jesse Raeburn, who is also a real estate agent with The Agency in Melbourne, has been brought in to try and win a strong sale for the vendor.
6/1A Affleck St, South Yarra won The Block in 2011.
Jesse Raeburn, a contestant on the current season, is the real estate agent for the listing.
The octagonal home at 6/1A Affleck St was created by Newcastle couple Dean and Shay Paine on the show’s eleventh season.
Mr Raeburn said he was excited to sell another property from the show. He also successfully auctioned Courtney and Hans’ apartment last season at The Gatwick in St Kilda.
“I’ve only been involved with the show in the past 12 months, but this is the second Block listing I’ve had, which is something I’m pretty proud of,” Mr Raeburn said.
“The vendors actually contacted an advocate who requested that the ‘real estate agent on The Block’ take the property.”
A modern kitchen is inside.
Views from the dining room are set to impress.
There are three bedrooms inside.
The auctioneer is renovating a terrace house at The Oslo in St Kilda with his long-term partner Mel. It’s being revealed to Blockheads on screen and will be taken to auction later in the year.
He said the South Yarra penthouse was worthy of taking top spot in the competition.
The bathroom looks good as new.
There’s also a cinema in the penthouse.
“There’s a different view of Melbourne from every window, which is quite amazing,” Mr Raeburn said.
“There’s a great gas fireplace, ensuite bathroom for every bedroom and a study nook … which all help it to command the higher price it earned on the show.”
It changed hands at the televised auction for $2.3 million, which is almost the same price it’s listed for now.
Views from every window are on offer.
There’s a lift in the middle of the home.
The agent said buyers shouldn’t worry about quality being compromised during the TV show’s rushed renovations.
“It’s a short amount of time but with the number of tradespeople in there in the buildings at once, it means that just the same amount of hours go into creating these places,” he said.
“They have really high quality finishes.”
The vendors freshly painted the property during their year at the apartment.
Nightclub owner and accountant David Brandi sold the penthouse to them for $2.365 million in March 2018.
Mr Raeburn is set to sell the property at auction on September 14.
